The playoffs of MPL Indonesia Season 18 will be played from November 4 to November 8 at the Jatim International Expo (JIE) Convention in Surabaya, East Java, with six teams in the bracket. Indonesian technology outlet detikInet, in a report published on October 23, 2026, listed the line-up: Team Liquid ID, Navi, Alter Ego Esports, Onic, Bigetron by Vitality and Evos. The matches are played offline at the venue and streamed on the league's YouTube channel.
The regular season is over, so the field is fixed. The six teams are the survivors of a nine-team league that opened in mid-August, and the stakes reach well beyond Surabaya: Indonesia has two direct places at the M8 World Championship, the world title event of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, which its publisher Moonton is staging in Istanbul in January 2027.
detikInet reports of October 19 and 23, 2026; Moonton's season launch post of August 14 and its announcements of August 11 and 26; Gizmologi coverage of October 8 and 12 and August 28.
Six of nine teams are through
MPL Indonesia, the Mobile Legends Professional League, is the country's top league for the game. Nine teams took part in Season 18: Onic, Alter Ego Esports, Bigetron by Vitality, Evos, RRQ Hoshi, Geek Fam, Navi, Dewa United Esports and Team Liquid ID. The top six of the regular season advance to the playoffs, and Moonton marked the start of the season with a launch post on August 14.
detikInet's final regular-season report, published on October 19, has Team Liquid ID in first place and Navi second, with 12 wins and 4 losses. Net Game Win is the difference between games won and games lost. Alter Ego Esports, Bigetron by Vitality, Evos and Onic follow in that order. The three teams that missed out are Dewa United Esports, RRQ Hoshi and Geek Fam. detikInet notes that each team played 16 matches.

Gizmologi, an Indonesian gaming outlet, published a standings table on October 12 in which Navi had taken first place from Team Liquid ID after beating it and Dewa United Esports. The outlet's table at that point read as follows.
| Team | Matches | Games | Net Game Win |
|---|---|---|---|
| Navi | 11-3 | 23-9 | +14 |
| Team Liquid ID | 11-4 | 24-11 | +13 |
| Alter Ego Esports | 9-5 | 20-11 | +9 |
| Bigetron by Vitality | 8-6 | 15-15 | 0 |
Gizmologi standings table, October 12, 2026. Games are individual games won and lost within the matches.
A week after that table, Team Liquid ID stood first again, with Navi second at 12-4. The table matters for the bracket because the two best-placed teams enter it one round later than the rest, which spares them a series on the opening day. The seeding counts because the two best-placed teams enter the bracket one round later than the rest.
What the last weeks decided
Gizmologi's preview of the final stretch, published on October 8, listed what each side needed. Evos faced Dewa United Esports, with both needing wins to strengthen their positions. RRQ Hoshi needed a run of positive results while hoping the teams above it dropped points. Alter Ego Esports met Bigetron by Vitality, which came in on the back of a Week 7 win. The two leaders met in Navi against Team Liquid ID, a match the outlet called a duel at the top of the table.
The playoff field was settled in Week 8. On Sunday, October 11, Onic beat RRQ Hoshi 2-1 in the match Gizmologi called the Royal Derby, a result that ended RRQ Hoshi's playoff hopes. In the same week, Bigetron by Vitality beat Dewa United Esports 2-0 and Geek Fam beat Evos 2-0, according to the same outlet.
For RRQ Hoshi the result extends a longer run. Gizmologi wrote that the team has now missed the playoffs in Season 16, Season 17 and Season 18, three seasons in a row. Onic, the club that won that derby, finished sixth, the last of the six qualification places, as detikInet's final order shows. Gizmologi's October 12 report already named the same six qualifiers: Bigetron by Vitality secured its place with the 2-0 win over Dewa United Esports, and Evos went through despite its 0-2 loss to Geek Fam, with Evos on 7-7 and Onic on 6-8 at that point.

detikInet describes an upper and a lower bracket, and identifies the matches against Navi and Team Liquid ID as the upper-bracket semifinals. A team that loses on the opening day, its first series, is out immediately, while a team beaten in the upper bracket drops to the lower bracket first. All playoff series are best-of-five, meaning a team needs three game wins to take the series, except the grand final, which is a best-of-seven and needs four. detikInet notes that playoff series are no longer best-of-three, as in the regular season, but best-of-five, and that that a series can end 3-0, 3-1 or 3-2, so a team can win in as few as three games or as many as five. The outlet's schedule calls the two opening-day matches the quarterfinals.
- Opening dayAlter Ego Esports meet Onic and Bigetron by Vitality meet Evos. The losers are out at once.
- Upper bracketNavi face the first winner and Team Liquid ID face the second. A loss here drops a team to the lower bracket.
- Lower bracket and finalA defeat in the lower bracket ends the run. The grand final is a best-of-seven.
The opening day is Wednesday, November 4. The first match, Alter Ego Esports against Onic, starts at 13:00 in Western Indonesia Time (WIB, UTC+7), and the second, Bigetron by Vitality against Evos, at 18:00 WIB. The winner of the first meets Navi, and the winner of the second meets Team Liquid ID, in the upper bracket that follows, with detikInet listing those two matches at 13:00 and 18:00 WIB as well.
detikInet calls a win on the opening day a benefit for the team that takes it, since the loser is eliminated at once. The seeding has a plain effect. The third seed, Alter Ego Esports, plays the sixth, Onic, and the fourth, Bigetron by Vitality, plays the fifth, Evos. The top two, Team Liquid ID and Navi, wait for the winners and so begin one round later.

MPL Indonesia has two direct places at the M8 World Championship, Moonton said on August 14 at the season launch. The league is not alone in that: Moonton said on August 11 that MPL Malaysia Season 18 runs its regular season from August 14 to October 18, with the top two teams representing Malaysia at M8 in Istanbul.
M8 marks the M Series' European debut. Moonton announced on August 26 that the finals will take place in Istanbul, with a Wild Card stage in Bangkok, Thailand. Gizmologi reported on August 28 that the event is set for January 2027. The Wild Card stage has a record ten teams competing for three places in the 16-team Main Stage, up from two places at the previous M7, Moonton said. At M7 the Wild Card stage had eight teams.
Gizmologi reported that Indonesia's two places come from the same slot structure that gives MPL Philippines and MPL Malaysia two places each. There is an extra road for development teams as well. The champion of MDL Indonesia, the second-tier league, joins the champions of the Philippine and Malaysian development leagues in a qualifier group, and the winner of that group enters the MLBB Championship Tour Southeast Asia Knockout Playoffs. The top two teams of those playoffs earn direct Main Stage places in Istanbul, and third and fourth go to the Wild Card stage in Bangkok, Gizmologi wrote. Moonton's August 14 post puts the group stage of that tour on December 9 and 10.
Gizmologi stresses that the development route is an extra opportunity that has to be fought for, and cannot be called a third Indonesian slot.
Links to the second tier
Moonton's August 14 season launch post, titled "From Jakarta to Surabaya, MPL Indonesia Season 18 begins as Indonesia's road to M8 expands", describes the season as a road from the regular season in Jakarta to the playoffs in East Java. The two tiers are linked: according to the same post, which sets out roster rules tied to the MLBB Championship Tour Southeast Asia, MPL teams may move up to three MPL players per season to their affiliated MDL team, while promotion from MDL to MPL stays unrestricted.
The route matters because of how Moonton has laid out the wider M Series. Its August 26 announcement lists five regions: Southeast Asia; Eastern Europe and Central Asia; Europe, the Middle East and Africa; East Asia; and the Americas. Indonesia's development route runs through the MLBB Championship Tour Southeast Asia, so a title in the second tier can become a path to a Main Stage place in Istanbul.
Only the top two seeds can lose their opening series and still be in the title race.
